[ ABSTRACT ]
The mental health of college students is a important aspect of college education. From the perspective of cognitive neuroscience, this paper mainly explores the influence of history education on the mental health and personality formation of college students. A total of 450 students were selected from a university for mental health survey against the Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90). Then, the subjects were divided into two groups. One of the groups received history courses with elements of mental health education, and the other received traditional history courses. The experimental results of the two groups were compared in details. The results show that the history education based on cognitive neuroscience can effectively improve the mental health of college students, especially in terms of interpersonal sensitivity, depression and hostility. The research findings offer a new direction for the reform of history education and the improvement of mental health of college students.
