terms of service
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Cesure (the “Service”), operated by Cesure (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

[ 01 · THE SERVICE ]
Cesure is a research tool that builds and maintains living, cited literature reviews. It discovers and reads scholarly papers from public sources, extracts claims with verbatim quotes, monitors the literature for changes, and proposes tracked changes that you review and accept. Features, limits, and pricing may change as the Service evolves.
Cesure is a tool to help you find and organize evidence. It is not a substitute for professional judgment, and it does not provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
[ 02 · ELIGIBILITY & ACCOUNTS ]
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Browsing and some features are available without an account; monitors, saved libraries, uploads, and higher limits require signing in.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
[ 03 · ACCEPTABLE USE ]
You agree not to:
- ·Use the Service in violation of any law, or the terms or rate limits of the third-party sources it draws on;
- ·Upload content you do not have the right to upload, including copyrighted material you are not licensed to use;
- ·Attempt to scrape, resell, or systematically extract the Service or another user's data;
- ·Probe, disrupt, or circumvent the security, rate limits, metering, or access controls of the Service;
- ·Use the Service to generate or spread material that is unlawful, infringing, or deliberately misleading.
[ 04 · YOUR CONTENT ]
You retain ownership of the documents you upload and the questions, reviews, and notes you create. You grant Cesure a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the Service for you, including sending it to the third-party processors listed in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you upload. You represent that you have the rights needed to upload each document and to have it processed as described. Uploaded documents are private to your account (or your team, if you share them) and are never published to the public gallery.
[ 05 · INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ]
The Service, its software, design, and brand are owned by Cesure and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in them except the limited right to use the Service.
Reviews you compile are yours to use. Quotes and metadata are drawn from third-party papers that remain the property of their rights holders; your use of that material is subject to the licenses and terms of the original sources.
[ 06 · AI-GENERATED CONTENT ]
Cesure uses automated systems and large language models to find papers, extract quotes, and draft claims and summaries. These systems can make mistakes: a quote may be mislabeled, a claim may be wrong, and a proposed change may be misjudged. Cesure verifies quotes against their sources and flags uncertainty, but no automated check is perfect.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it. Cesure is a research aid, not an authority.
[ 07 · PLANS, BILLING & CANCELLATION ]
The Service offers a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods. We may change prices with reasonable notice; changes apply to the next billing period.
[ 08 · TERMINATION ]
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect the Service or other users.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) continue to apply.
[ 09 · DISCLAIMERS ]
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result, review, or citation is complete or correct.
[ 10 · LIMITATION OF LIABILITY ]
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cesure will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
[ 11 · INDEMNIFICATION ]
You agree to indemnify and hold Cesure harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from content you upload or your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
[ 12 · CHANGES TO THESE TERMS ]
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
[ 13 · GOVERNING LAW ]
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
